As depicted very well by the title of the game, the infamous quarrelsome Worms are squirming for the first time in full 3D. Worms 3D has good composition for a franchise transition title, although not of the quality I'd attribute to such instant classics as Ninja Gaiden, Metroid Prime, and The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind-Waker, all of which were superlative examples of how one can keep the gameplay alive and reminiscent of days gone by, but suitably update the game at the same time. Personally, I'd have rather been playing Scorched Earth. Worms: Ultimate Mayhem is the definitive 3D “Worms” game! It's the biggest, it's the best. Worms Ultimate Mayhem is a souped-up, re-vamped, high definition reimagining of Worms 3D … Worms 3D is a fresh approach to classic worms. In our opinion, an obligatory item for all fans of the Worms series. While Acclaim hasn't been known for releasing showstoppers, this update of an old franchise seems a worthwhile party game to occupy a small group of game playing friends. Worms has been knocking about since 1995, and with each incarnation it's become slicker and more polished (in contrast to myself), while steadfastly resisting the temptation to go 3D.
This game was quickly released just a year after the last Worms game to make the jump to 3D. If you have trouble to Victory means that maps are unlocked for multiplayer, so it's always worth it in the end. 6 points, Hi Worms 3D's front-end interface, while quite bouncy and pretty, irritates more than a game's front-end really should.
